SO do the player can see map in grimrock ?

IM 35 YEArs old now.. i was playing dungeon master and eye of the beholder as a youth gamer and i remember fron those days my bad spot... I was brave in the dungeons and still i am . But i was always a mess when the game comes to mapping with paper and pen... At one other adventure of mine in a game called Lands of lore at last i could use a map in the game , and that makes me enjoy the game in a better more easy way i guess ..
