I just realized that this game takes place on blip of the world map.

I hope sequels/dlc fully expand into some of the other areas. I'm almost done with LoG, so maybe it will shed more light onto it once I complete the game. However I'm excited at the prospect of exploring more regions of this game world.

the plan is to allow modding and have many new dungeons/adventures.. though if they'll come though gog or we gotta buy them or there patched content is a mystery

Stuff that modders make is pretty much always free. Even if a studio really likes what a mod team does and decides to pay them for it, that's usually done by hiring the mod team and working on something in-house (Battlefield 2 was developed in part by the team that made the popular Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942, for instance) instead of trying to sort out who owns the rights to already created mod content.
