I'm itching to buy this but I'm not entirely sure how well this game play and I notice in my retail copy choosing a higher resolution actually work it's that the game crashes after that. Also, is there an option to change to stepping instead of turning left or right, it's not something I'm used to.

I know the game is new here but as soon as someone find something about please respond.

EDIT: Sorry!! Blood Omen 2.

I'm assuming you are talking about BO2?

If so:
1) widescreen:
No patches yet. There is a new Defiance patch and a work in progress one for SR2, so it may change in a coming month or so.

2) controls
No way around it. The only way to sidestep is going into autoface mode and dodging (direction + jump).

3) performance
I haven't seen a connection between resolution and crashing. It is known however that the game does crash on multicore systems. Check technical section of Soul Reaver 2 in my stickied thread (the workaround is identical).

Argh. Can I edit the title?

The other games seem to work fine with it (LOK, SR1, SR2) but BO2 seem to have some issue that I can't resolve.

However, it does remind me of some game that may be available here as well. The in-game shows support for higher resolutions than what actually was available at release but if you change it the game will crash. Now I can't remember the name of that game nor the solution but I do recall some kind of hack (change config file, registry, hexedit etc..) and after that it actually work.

I guess I'll have to wait. Thanks for the reply.
You can try to change the resolution in the registry and check if that works (Look for Blood Omen 2 in the registry, go into 1.00.000 folder and change ScreenHeight, ScreenWidth and maybe RefreshRate).

I can't believe I didn't check that but I didn't know exactly what to search for since the registry is huge. Anyway, I found it in: \\\Registry\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Blood Omen 2\1.00.000\ and it worked.

Thanks for the help. :)

Thanks. I wonder if that might corrupt my saves though.

I can't believe I didn't back up the exe! The game requires a CD now..

Bah.

Great, thanks!

EDIT: It works. I now noticed how stretched it was, Kain is super thin.
