Recently I've decided to come back to this wonderful game. Unfortunately I noticed that it has some serious problems working on Windows 10. First of all there's a teleport glitch when using light attack. Raziel moves instantly way ahead when trying to attack, which makes normal combat impossible. Then there's the freeze problems which can occur randomly when playing. The sound freezes along with the whole game and the only solution is to terminate the program.

Thankfully these are easy to solve. You just have to download the Direct3D 8 to Direct3D 9 wrapper. It's a single .dll file which should be placed in the game folder. You can find it here: https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases. The file is called d3d8.dll. After applying the fix all problems are gone, at least on my machine.

Have fun with this great game! :)

Tried it, still crashes for me. I get an error about "ntdll.dll". tried to uninstall and reinstall that specific dll using command prompt and i get a weird network error that says something like "the dll is connected to the network but is not communicating"

at one point i got SR2 to work for 30 minutes. I stopped playing for a minute, closed it out and tried relaunching but the game hasnt worked since. ive tried all kinds of "fixes" at this point, nothing seems to work anymore.

Update, it completely fixes the menu freezing issue on windows 11 by placing .dll into both the game folder and the data folder. so copy and paste the .dll into both. very atmospheric and gothic
