It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Thanks for the info. I sent email to the one programmer about this. When I will obtain answer, I will write it here.
One more: try this patch.
I saw in its description that this patch solves crash at the start. Good opportunity to check this.

QWEEDDYZ: Try to disable any USB controllers - except normal wired KB+mouse (again, no tool and no drivers must be running, it not requred for PnP controllers, even if KB have some additional function buttons) - and check if game starts.

Disable\close ATI Tray, MSI Afterburner, Nvidia GeForce Experience (better delete this) - any like that. Disable any controllers (\macros) tools, not matter Razer, A4tech, SteelSeries or Logitek or any else that chinese broken drivers-tools (for example: LogiOptions.exe, part of Logitech drivers for keyboards/mice). Ofc disable DEP at all. Disable or maybe delete antivirus (most of free and some of paid - just trash).
Nice set of suggestions. Thanks.

QWEEDDYZ: SRHook (from wrace aka hate_gog) for SR1 - if nothing help. but must work without any of this, or any of DxWnd\degeVoodoo\.etc.
Exactly, SRHook is not my patch + it can't solve any problems.
(It just provides WideScreen Support and uncap of framerate).
Support of Windowed Mode for SR1 was created by Vampmaster and was added into 2 patches (his own and my one), so now DxWnd is not needed (moreover there was problem with finding stable version of this program).

My patch is here (SR1_Patch124.zip).
For non-Steam users only part of fixes are available (all excepting new Sound / Achievements / Subtitles Engines).
