legacyOfKainIsLife: Are you mad?
No, unfortunately I am quite sane, which seems more and more like a disadvantage in this day and age.
legacyOfKainIsLife: It was obviously a new story, explicitly described by the dev team as occurring centuries later and without any connection whatsoever to the old series.
So is it occuring centuries later or does it have no connection to the old series whatsoever? It's an either/or situation; the former leaves a lot of space to rape the story in every orifice, which it would, by the way, look it up. The backstory of this abomination is that Kain went back in time and offed his younger self and that somehow fixed the future. Kinda. Which is, you know, pretty damn impossible given the previously established rules of time travel and changing the past.
And then it would turn out that he DIDN'T kill himself, but somehow fooled reality into thinking he did. Which is triple impossible with a side of nonsense.
legacyOfKainIsLife: It was literally meant as a modern rendition of an old game that could never have its story nor dev-team-effort matched within a century. As such, it would be both appealing to old fans and fantastic to all players.
Yeah, I remember the gameplay leaks which clearly demonstrated that the writing in Dead Sun is anything but appealing to me and many other OG fans.
legacyOfKainIsLife: "Don't be silly" LMAO, could *you* be any sillier?
Given that I'm yet to be silly in this thread, yes, I very much could. But, given that you ask this question in response to a five year old post, I have to ask: do you have any self-awareness?
legacyOfKainIsLife: Edit: Let's not forget that LoK:Soul Reaver was the most ambitious (and most deserving of that title, representative of the whole series) game of all time:
https://www.neogaf.com/threads/soul-reaver-may-have-been-the-most-overly-ambitious-game-ever-research-thread.488564/
Yeah. Soul Reaver is a fantastic game all around. No arguing there.
