I get to phase three of the battle and I can't charm the minion. I go into charm mode, assume the proper stance, but I don't get the spiral visual effect that signifies where you're aiming. I've tried firing randomly and nothing happens. So I'm stuck.

Any help? I'm doing a playthrough the entire series and I'd hate to have to give up on Blood Omen 2 halfway through.

I managed to get past by just trying a whole bunch of times. Didn't do anything different, but it just worked eventually. Even when it worked, it didn't work at first, but suddenly just kicked in.
