1. Download Dosbox-Staging 0.81 RC or later and extract the folder to your system. Dosbox-Staging 0.81 has native support for 3DFX acceleration.

If you want to view Dosbox-Staging’s default 3DFX / Voodoo settings, open dosbox-staging.conf and scroll to the [voodoo] section at line 399. Where Is the Config File?

3DFX acceleration needs more in-game memory, so in dosbox-staging.conf, go to line 204 and set memsize = 64.

Also, follow the instructions here to fix the Baccata tavern dialogue bug in 3DFX.

2. Download Glide2x.zip and extract GLIDE2X.OVL into your Lands of Lore 2 game folder where the game executable LOLG.EXE is located.

GLIDE2X.OVL must be present in the Lands of Lore 2 game folder for the game to be able to detect Dosbox-Staging 0.81’s 3DFX support.

3. Open Dosbox-Staging.

4. Mount your Lands of Lore 2 folder in Dosbox-Staging using the mount command:

mount c path\to\landsoflore2
Replace path\to\landsoflore2 with the specific location on your system.

5. Navigate to the C drive and run Lands of Lore 2 with this command:

LOLG.EXE -CD.
Important: If you do not run the game with -CD. appended to the command, Lands of Lore 2 will not start at all.

6. Press Escape to reach Lands of Lore 2’s main menu.

7. Go to Options —> Hardware Acceleration, then set Hardware Acceleration Controls to On.

You will now see the 3DFX logo on-screen for several seconds. This means you have now successfully enabled 3DFX support for Lands of Lore 2. Enjoy!

I did not see any stuttering, but you should download Dosbox-Staging 0.81 and see for yourself with your own system.
