Has anyone ever gotten information from Spitzer?

Devon says to ask Spitzer for information about mercenaries in the area.

He never says anything.

I don't think Devon claims that Spitzer has any information about the mercenaries.



OWYN: Just curious. I was wondering if maybe he would know anything about the Quegians.

DEVON: He's got more reason to be afraid of King Lebus than I do. He'd avoid Quegians like the plague. Now if you want to play dice with him, I'm sure he be plenty happy to talk to you. He was in Tanneurs last I heard.

Doesn't that suggest he has something to say? He says nothing.

My interpretation is that he knows nothing about the Quegian mercenaries, and is only interested in playing dice.
He is "happy to talk to you" in the sense that he is willing to sit down with you and play, but he does not actually want to talk to you.

Tom's Tavern in Tanneurs is important to a complicated Quest. If you have talked to Devon in Eggley, he will have told you about the Collector. If you have also talked to the Priestess of the Temple of Silban, you will have accepted the Quest - to find the Collector, so he can be punished. If you now talk to Spitzer at the inn, he will indicate that the Collector is in a back room of the inn. You will have to spend the night here, if you want to meet him. Later you can pick up you reward from the Priestess of Silban.
After the Collector has left, Spitzer will want to gamble with you. But remember to Bard first. Now gamble with Spitzer, until you lose. Surprisingly, you can now Bard again, receiving the highest fee. If you repeat this often enough, you can get filthy rich! (This is a bug in the game.
