According to mobygames, Polanie 2 aka Knightshift aka Once Upon a Knight was re-released in 2005 as an updated version featuring "150 new weapons and armor components, 25 new enemies, 8 new maps for the RPG part" and "an enhanced particle system".

I would like to know whether this GOG release is the version in question.

I'm guessing not as there is no mention of it on the store page. Also in game there is no version number displayed so hard to check it out via that way too. I think probably the only way to find out for sure is to put in a support ticket and ask GOG themselves.

Although I must just say that I'm having fun with the game as is :)

The final retail version is 1.3. I have checked the files from patch 1.3 agsinst the gog release & all patched files are there. That means that the gog version is patched to 1.3 already.

If you add up all changes from patches 1.01 to 1.3, you will get:
- 8 new MP maps
- 120 new weapons & magical elements
- a new experience point distribution system
- new enemies
- bug fixes

So ,it's possible that the director's cut is nothing else than the repacked game v1.3.
