Hello.
The game won't seem to let me save. Every time I try to use the save option, it asks me to find a root directory for the files. Unfortunately, anytime I attempt to put one in, the game gives back and error message.
Is anyone else having these issues?
Thanks,
Eric

What address are you trying to put in?
It might be worth checking the dosbox settings... I'm just installing it now, so I'll be able to answer in more detail in a moment.
[edit] Okay, all you need to do when saving is click on "Change Directory" and then put in "C:\" as the directory. It will save the files to the KQ5 directory (which is what dosbox is using as the root directory).
Does that help?

This is a quirk with KQ5. You must specify the exact path to the RESOURCE.CFG file. Change the line for the executable in the [autoexec] section of the DOSBox config to:
SIERRA.EXE C:\RESOURCE.CFG

It seems to have worked. Thanks guys.
Also, I know this is a talkie version, but is there a way to do text also?
I alow myself to "check" a proper answer.

No. As I said, KQ 5 needs the EXACT path to the RESOURCE.CFG. Otherwise you will get the "can hold no more saved games error". The other solution is a work around that you have to do each time you start the game. My solution is the fix.

Hi!
I am trying to save but can't access the \ key in the save function in KQ5. I looked at the response concerning changing the line for the executable and am completely lost. Can anyone help?

Open the dosboxKQ6.conf file in Notepad and ADD C:\ in front of RESOURCE.CFG so that it says:
SIERRA.EXE C:\RESOURCE.CFG
