Go into properties --> Compatibillity on the shortcut and set the game to run in 256 colours. You may have to run the game as admin as well, depending on your computerbuild.
The game was created way back in the days, and even on my old pentium I had to change the colours from 16 to 256 to prevent Fisherprice-colours.
