Hi! Here’s something I’ve recently whipped up using the resources of all the fan groups that have tried to remake King’s Quest 4 in the VGA glory throughout the years. It is also my tribute to their hard work. I had to do quite a bit of tinkering with the existing remade graphics, added my versions of all the missing backgrounds, altered some animations and recorded all the voice-overs to make it work and look coherent. It can ONLY work while bundled with the ORIGINAL game (King’s Quest 4). For more details, please read the description under the video on YouTube. For some unknown reason I cannot post a link here. All you have to do is to search for this patch on youtube. You’ll come across it easily - just type King’s Quest 4 VGA;) Here are some screenshots.

The look feels polished and professional, and pretty indeed.

Are the graphics and voices the only modification here?

Is the parser respected or is it only point and click?

Any optional mod for the timer limit/possible dead ends etc, or how the time flows?

Greetings

Hi! Thanks for the kind words :). I have just updated the patch, so it’s worth redownloading. Especially if you haven’t tried out the VGA Speech & music patch (over the amiga version of the game). And answering your question - all the remade backgrounds and sprites as well as the recorded lines have been pasted over the original resources of the game, so basically, it’s exactly the same original KQ4, but with updated graphics and voices. No other changes can actually be made. No modifications in the source code are even possible. The parser as well as the time limits are still there (AND the copy protection of course). Have fun!
