hi,
since i want to play adventure games again, and think i will play the kings quest games too some time in the future, i wanted to know about the dead ends, i still want to play the games myself, but i want to be stuck and begin a new game because of a dead end

oh and since i never played the games, no spoilers :)

the same goes for the space quest forum, where there is a similar thread ^^
Yep. These games are notorious for having dead-ends. But as long as you keep multiple saved game files, you shouldn't ever have to lose too much progress. Most people are used to only using one file, which is a very bad idea in these games for reasons that should be obvious.

If it helps make the pill easier to swallow, think of it as losing all your lives in an old video game and having to start over. The first five games aren't very long once you know what you're doing, the sixth game only has a handful of them (and it's immediately clear when you have screwed up), and the other two are free of dead-ends.
Yes there are some dead ends. It get's better later in the series. In King's Quest 6, for example, there are only a few dead ends that usually give you a chance the "prepare youself" before you enter the dead end.

KQ7 doesn't have dead ends.
