slash11: If you are TBS-minded then KBTL is definitive worth your money and time for only 10 $.

Rodor: Well, Legend is really 10$. But Crossworlds costs twice more for the same weight (2Gb). What should I get for such overpriced game?
Crossworlds is newer but i kinda like Legend more and is cheaper as well. You should get the Legend for 10 $ which is a great deal for an excellent game. Maybe Crossworlds gets cheaper later for 10 $ as well. But the Legend is worth easily 10 $. The legend has kinda more consistent gameplay is more grinding but does not matter since since the gameplay is great fun.

I am a bit puzzled why Crossworlds is that expensive. It has been on a game magazine DVD a while ago for €5,50.
Thank you both, Mondkalb and Slash11, you gave me some food for pondering and calculating... :)

Ask the gog team ^^, i do not know either why it costs that much. But i think 20 $ is still not that expensive for the quality of the game. When i think of some 50$ games that come out new and are total bs then you can be happy with to get Crossworlds for 20 $.
In Legend I found the game was starting to get a bit repetitive without any strategic element. In Crossroads this was less so. Couple of reasons for this - there was a wider range units, spells and magic items as well as terrain. The plot, such as it was, was a little bit more engaging although I can't really remember it 30 seconds after finishing the game.

On the whole though Crossworlds just felt better put together than the earlier game. I also picked it up for less that $20 so might be worth waiting for the next sale.

On the downside I probably not likely to replay either game for some time.
I have been playing both The Legend and Armored Princess recently and still can't resist the one more turn enchantment (though there are no actual turns). ^^ Time just vanishes while playing.

Though there are some improvements in AP and Crossworlds, I think TL is more charming and might also be better for new players. All of the game elements are visible early on and you learn, that you can't take on each and every quest immediately.

Also, there is a bit more variety in TL, you can reach the neighbouring countries from the start, the marsh adding some moody environment from the beginning as contrast to the colorful starting region. In AP you are stuck to a few islands and it takes time and some island hopping until you get at least to Verona.

Also, the playground is a bit wider and larger in TL. I love the change of the music, e. g. when you go to the Islands of Freedom and get the lively music and atmosphere that reminds me always of the Pirates of the Caribbean with swashbuckling and skeletons and eyepatched pirates with parrots. :D

I have played both games again and again and it is always a joy to come back to them.
