I remeber playing the original for hours on my megadrive/genesis and when I saw the title I always was curious is this a remake or a reboot. Isd the mechanic the same as the original or is it a heroes wannabe?l I really want to have this game as long as it has the same rules as it was captering traiters and criminals of the crown.
oh well i did my own research, and its not like the original so i pass on this. thank you fellow gog members, oh yeah its not a free giveaway so noone cares.

I don't see how he asked for the old one. Also abandonware links are frowned upon here.

I dont play illegal abandon junki allo I wanted to know if it is like heroes or like the original game.
Well, it's not really like the original nor like Heroes. You stil have one large world where you roam freely and gold is still the only ressource. You still buy units that follow your hero and battles are still turn-based tactical combat. The thing that has changed is what you do, it's no longer about turning in criminals to get clues about the location of a hidden item, it's more like one long continuous adventure. You start out in the king's service and have to go on a few messenger quests, before you get promoted and have to figure out what has been causing all the strange things to happen and why the humans' allies have turned their back on them. What I like about KB is that you are free to go anywhere, fight any enemy you come across and do any quests. There is no no "you can't do this because the plot doesn't allow it" or "go there for no reason other than the plot". You are however limited to one contintent at a time until you get the next part of the main quest done, but the continents are large enough. The only real diffrence is that exploring is in real time now, so if you stand still enemies will still move and if they see you they will try to attack you. You can pause the game with the space bar and move the camera around, though.

EDIT:
Here's a gameplay video (I'd recommend turning the combat animation speed up in the settings)

errrm........ whatever.

by the way, GOG are in the list of affiliates there and i have also noticed that in the current user survey they are asking where we heard of gog..? one of the the choices is an "abandonware site", so use of links to one, which gog is an affiliate of and happily mentions as a means of discovery makes your comment on being "frowned upon" as moot and marginally sensationalist and mildly inflammatory.

just saying

Sorry i didnt mean it that way i do aporticiate that youi wanted to help and before ii went to gog i did use the abandon games a lot but since gog is here i buy them becauser i can get them to ru. Wich was hard with those abandon games. I dont care about if i buy or dl them but gog makes them runneble on my new system
To Abandonia's credit, they only host games if those cannot be bought anywhere. If the game is commercial they will instead link to a site where you can buy it. Let's say I want to download Ultima V, then i get redirected to GoG.
