When the game is about to switch me into a tactical battle, it takes a reasonable amount of time (usually under a minute) to load the battle. However, when I finish the battle, it takes upwards of 5 minutes sometimes (and usually more than 3) to do it's reloading of the adventure map. Does anyone have tips to fix this, such as settings perhaps?
My machine is pretty fast - i7-860, Radeon 5750, SSD for OS drive, mechanical hard drive for D: drive, where I have installed the game/
Thanks,
Pat

I know ssd are expensive and space is probably tight on it but any chance you could install the game to that drive to see if it makes any difference?

Ralackk, thanks for answering! Just as you say, the SSD space is tight, so if it were a choice of installing there or giving up playing due to the erformance, I'd choose giving up playing. After all, it was only $5, and GOG has reconnected me with many games form the past (MOM, the MOOS, HOMM3) :).
I was just looking to see if there was a known solution to this problem, or whether this is just the way the game runs and I have to decide whether to deal with it, or lastly whether I'm having a unique problem.
Thanks,
Pat
I ran into this problem on Armored Princess. I solved it by running a background process that was constantly accessing the hard disk, e.g. antivirus scan, bittorrent client
