Not using the GOG verison but I can't find anything on this anywhere no matter how much I look. If I understand it right, Paladins are supposed to start with the Resurrection Scroll they can memorize. But no matter how many games I start and go through the tutorial with the class, i never get the scroll.

Am I misunderstanding something here?

Yes there is a misunderstanding. The Paladin gets a resurrection "skill". It can be found at the bottom of the "Mind" skill tree, so will take a while to get. Until then you can use the resurrection abilities of some troops such as Inquisitors during combat. It uses their turn though, so you will have use it with some tactical thought.
