I have to say I am very surprised how long it took me to find my mindset for this game. The beginning was very rough. You really need to work solutions out on your own for this game plus the length was a welcome surprised. It really reminded me of games like Unreal 1 and Rune. After about two hours of getting ripped into shreds it all can back to me. After that is has been quite the adventure and the weapons are fun to use. Glad I gave this a try. The music is its biggest flaw, too loud and takes away from the experience but like in the old days I just pop my headphones on(instead of my cd player it is now my ipod) and play my own music .

I well agree with your post. Kingpin was ahead of its time. Original movie-like theme. Awesome graphics (for 1999). FPS with some RPG features: talk, money, henchmen, missions...
As we discussed in previous posts, the background music can be disabled in the game options. So it's better to enjoy the very good sound design.
