Has someone already played Kingpin online? If yes, was it cool or not that cool? I never played the multiplayer, so I don't know exactly. :)
I played Kingpin multiplayer back when it was originally released, but I only played it over LAN, not online. I remember it being a lot of fun though! Not sure how well it has held up over time, but I'm enjoying playing through the single-player mode again.
I was a big fan of MP Kingpin, playing Bagman with one hit kills switched on was a laugh as it was a constant back and forth war where anyone could win. The level design for some of the maps were just inspiring and there have been few games released in the last 10 years that can match them.
Multiplayer lasted surprsingly well with servers still being played on up to 5 years after its release, and this was a game which had no support due to the developers Xatrix Entertainment ceasing to exist around the time of the games release.
I never did complete the game only getting about halfway through before discovering the delights of the online side of things. I may just buy this game again and actually find out how the second half played.
Para.
Hmm maybe I will test the multiplayer this weekend. Hope, that I will have the time to do so.
Is there a chance that people are still playing multiplayer?

Galacticus: Is there a chance that people are still playing multiplayer?

I didn't see any servers when I went to multiplayer, but I don't think it has an online server browser, I think it only checks for LAN servers. But I could be wrong.
Anyways, I'd be interested in playing some multiplayer Kingpin if others would be interested.
If you install Gamespy 3D you will find a few servers. Not many ppl playing though.. But still, I guess it's possible to get a game going. You will most likely need to use the Monkeyod client to play which can be found on http://downloads.kingpinforever.com/mods/Monkey_Mod/. Set Gamespy to use that one in stead of the original .exe
Also check http://poisonville.net/ for maps skins and stuff. :)
edit: Uh, well for some reason it seems that links are a bit bugged on this forum. If i post multiple links they will always point to the first one... So copy-paste then. ;)

Multiplayer was good in this, although I didn't play a lot of it. You could also really customize the look of your character with a wide variety of wardrobe choices, so matches weren't just "Red Clones vs. Blue Clones."
I found the multiplayer to be quite innovative.
When the rest of the world was playing capture the flag,Kingpin came out with Bagman. Money became the "flag" and anyone could contribute to winning, either by collecting it at the drop point,or stealing it from others in transit. Or steal it from the other team's safe! I hope that GOG starts a revival of these old games...it would be great to play them again.
