I am not i am using my father's xp machine from the 90s as of atm until I can get a Windows 10 machine

I am not sure if the MH Kingpin patch works with Win XP.

I suggest removing these two files from your Kingpin folder - patchcfg.exe and wsock323.dll (which are the 2 files for MH Kingpin patch) and see if it loads then.

Also just to be sure confirm you have a pak0 file in your kingpin/main folder.

I do have a pak0 file and I will remove the two files out there when I try it later when I wake up thank you for trying to help me to get this epic classic game running

It now says device not found when I take out the patch its doing my head in as I remember it working as a child

Do you know what video card is in the PC?

Do you still have the original CD?

I do still have the original cd and the Video card is a Gf 9600-gt Dvi-Hdtv-Hdcp-DDr2- 1Gb
Pci-express

And the Graphics card is a Gf9600-Gt-Dvi-Hdtv-Hdcp-DDr2- 1Gb pci -express card

It may be worth uninstalling and then reinstalling the game to see if that fixes the game. If you use the CD you will need to install the v1.21 official patch.

You can either get the .exe or the zip version.

Just extract/unzip the files to you Kingpin folder and overwrite any existing files.

I'm wondering if my Gpu is faulty i updated the Gpu and its still saying the same thing Hardware device not found i may drop in a new Gpu and install the drivers from the disk and find out what would you suggest if thats feasible? Then try it again ?

I asked the creator of the MH Kingpin patch for his help.Here is his response:-

I think that "Hardware device not found" means that they don't have an OpenGL driver installed. They could try installing this driver from Nvidia (seems to be the latest for XP):

Btw, the patch should work on XP.
