Hello Forum,

I own the game and I read on the web that this version has problem with bugs. I read that the ones of the original game are here, and there's new ones too. I also read that there's some game breaking bugs and it's suggested to save often, especially before a new quest, in case of a bug blocks your game progression.
Is true, even on 1.5 patch (current on GOG)?
Could I play and get stuck in my playthrough if I would not be careful to save often?
The game does have its fair share of bugs, however most of the game breaking ones have been patched. Still a good idea to have use multiple save slots, but that's just good advice for every game.
Ok I will sound like an old schmuck , but ....ALL the games nowadays are launched... bugged !
I don't say that studios don't take any pride with their work, but marketing department is the new master in this business..
the release date was September 8, 2020.
My advice : wait at LEAST 4 to 5 months before buying any game !
Again, I'm shocked by this new politic from studios but it's how it's done, in 2021...
It's even sadder when it's a "remake" of an old game. you can expect to have a good experience, but NO...
Worst experience : on console, with Days gone. MANY heavy patches and the game has still bugs..... months after release date.

Off topic much? Nobody cares what you think about the industry
OP wants to know specifically about serious bugs in the current release so list a few.

I've been trying to decide on buying this myself so here's my research:

IE - The original game:
- Widescreen Unplayable - Not merely forcing you to live with unused screen space - it required a hack on a widescreen monitor.
- key rebinding was not functional - I don't recall whether it was due to hardcoding or no bind interface

For me - the original game was completely unplayable until I found some hacks, and not just config file edits.
I'm sure the widescreen hack was mucking with running executable on the fly.

With those I made it half-way through the first part of the game.

SO DOES THIS RELEASE WORK?

- Some other posters say that keybinding works fine - They LIE. if you change the movement keys it breaks them.
- One guy said he runs in Linux.
- a few people suggest keeping extra saves in case they get borked
- at least one reviewer finished the game.

There are a few mods at nexusmods that might help:

Save editor - https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/8
Console - https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/14
Level scaling - https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/19

Since I haven't found tons of complaints it's almost certainly much better than the original release.

The existence of a gameplay mod (level scaling) suggests people managed to progress to end-game without getting stopped by some world-ending bug.

Quite a few shaders, a nude mod, and some NPC clothing unlocks.

My best guess is that the game is playable, but the engine doesn't have available tools (else we would see armor/clothes/hair converted from other games)

I, too, am curious as to this game's playability. If not the PC version, then is the PS4 version playable? This is one of those situations where I actually own the 360 original, but my 360 is long dead and I don't want to go hunt down a Series X just to play games I liked considering the current game market is a vast wasteland of despair.

I want to throw money at somebody but they keep ducking out of the way!

I've got nearly 130 hours of playing logged up and can honestly say that I've come across no game breaking bugs. A couple of minor quest related ones which just left me with some inventory items I couldn't get rid of is all. I'm really enjoying this game regardless and can highly recommend it :)

My lost profile problem - see an earlier post - was, I later discovered, caused by me deleting a game that was using an editor mod that I installed to try and get rid of the unwanted inventory items!
Items which cannot be deleted from inventor are possible to delete it from "bag for sell" (sorry I don't know what name it is for english word) and from there you can delete any item. Just send item into this bag.

Do you mean send to 'Junk'? If so, then left over quest items, etc do not have the option to put them there, they are forever stuck in your inventory. Luckily enough they don't register as adding to your inventory limit. Very annoying though to drag useless items around :(

Sorry for late reply. Yes, and now I found that some items you really cant move even to "junk". But I remember some items I had in inventory (some quest daggers inside items not as weapons). I cannot destroy them, but I was able to add it into 'junk'. I am not sure if I destroy them or sell them, but now I don't have those daggers. (Daggers was from 2 quests).

Usually most quest items dissapear after quest is finished.
