I'm considering getting the game on gog. I've always wanted the game on gog DRM Free.

I have a huge backlog, so I'm not in a hurry to get it.

I'm just curious if getting it on gog would be a bad move or not...

Yes, updates are the same on both platforms

Yes, both are on v1.6, though exact release timings may vary by a few hours

The only caveat is as usual is that it's GOG that make the offline installers, not the game devs.
So devs provide updates direct to Galaxy (in the same way as Steam does it), but then we have to wait on GOG staff (one individual, does all installers) to update the Installer.

Which may be delayed a day or two, depending on how many games need new installers, and that persons work schedule.
If you really can't wait, you can just use Galaxy to update the game instead.

Now that patch 1.6 came to GOG a few days ago, I'm not sure it's really necessary. I played through 2 or 3 times with patch 1.5 and had no issues.
