Gyrofalcon: This game is insanely CPU heavy and your CPU is under par. Please check the recommended requirements for 1080p 30fps.
MightySirLora: The CPU is fine, i even put in a 5950x to check and the issues persist
Warr1orAH: Stuttering is really annoying me in this game.
From boot up the game is playing fine, however if henry dies and I reload, stuttering happens constantly.
If i mount on a stolen horse and dismount then stuttering begins as well.
The only way I've found to stop this, is to restart my PC, but doing that everytime Henry dies or you mount then dismount a horse kills the enjoyment of the game 5 hrs and have to say will be waiting for the next patch, just not fun anymore.
MightySirLora: I also noticed that when I start the game up fresh there are very few stutters
I've done quite a few things to resolve the issue for me so here it goes.
1) I uninstalled and reinstalled the game - this made no change
2) Installed Mod to enable async compute (from nexus mods, called FPS boost) - this helped to lower the stutter effect but still noticeable.
3) From the reddit forums found the perk 'Local Hero' when activated caused stuttering (sound dumb but IDK any better), so I reset all my perks, it's important to mention at the time I didn't have the 'Local Hero' perk activated as I only progressed about 5 hrs in. But tried out of desperation anyway.
4) The actual fix - From reddit, this was crazy BTW, but the fact I was using a PS5 controller and wireless mouse were causing some sort of interference.
So I did the following, unplug the wireless dongle from my MBO, unplug the Bluetooth receiver from my MBO.
Use a wired mouse and wired controller, hey presto no more stutter, play tested for 2 hrs it was fine.
**IMPORTANT** - I really hate wires so my final solution was to move the mouse's wireless dongle and Bluetooth receiver so they were as far apart on the MBO as possible. Next I reduced the polling rate of the wireless mouse via logitech software to the minimum possible, then I turned on bluetooth then reconnected my PS5 controller.
After booting the game (clicking the play button in GOG), I immediately turn off the power switch on the back of the wireless, to be pedantic then play the game.
Played for 4 + hrs.
It runs buttery smooth now, Thank F*** for that.
**IMPORTANT ALSO** I have all of the above solutions activated in order and still use all of them together.
If you're in a similar niche circumstance then I hope this helps you too or at least diagnose what it is or isn't.
For me now that it is working well enough, I am going to disable updates till DLC release and create a copy of the game on another drive so any future updates won't F up this working version I have.
