Gyrofalcon: To play pirated DRM-free Steam game, you need a cracked version still.
To play pirated DRM-free GoG game, you need only the original offline downloads.

What will a random pirate use if they could choose?
The point is very much valid.
I don't see how this is a valid point

What will a random pirate use if he has only the Steam game cracked - he or she will use that Steam game and they did day 1, minute 1... Just because there isnt a GOG version that does not mean anyone would wait - quite the opposite. Nobody cares!. And the DRM of Steam is really nothing!

Nobody said anything about the delayed GoG launch would "force" any pirates to wait for GoG release.
So if you, the pirate, has the luxuries to choose from (on launch) a cracked Steam version (high infections risk to your computer and network), OR a problem free GoG version, what will you go for??

I don't see where you going with this and whats your point. I don't see how this matters for the devs. if you, the pirate has anything that you can pirate - you will. This is all that matters for the devs. And the GOG reealses does not really provide more safety as you claim. I would never trust a random file on internet - being signed or even having the md5 means nothing.Usually the safety on internet comes from known sources... But I think we should stop with this discussion because its pointless and definitely not the reason why the game was delayed here...

Devs has nothing to do with this. They got their paycheck before launch, now the publisher own the game and makes the calls. And DeepSilver made the call to delay release on GoG, due to the DRM-free nature of the game.
What you think, doesn't matter.

I don't think anything these are just facts(not a thought). If the call was made cause of that it would be a very poor and uninformed call because it does not matter in the end. I am not sure how you would know yourself unless you work for them so I'd leave the guessing for myself

Take a look into how DeepSilver does things regarding GoG-releases, especially with KCD1.
The Twitch drops should become available using the cheat console, which is not the first time we got this "workaround".

Regarding the other comments: It is pretty much pointless, as we do not know the real reason why a release is becoming delayed. It is simply the way how this publisher is handling it.

One is for certain: If a pirate wants a game they usually get whats available to them. The mentality they may have can vary a lot, so it is pointless trying to "generalize" stuff. However... whats clear from the well known human behavior: If someone is demanding something very hard, then they are willing to take greater risks.
