So I got the game and after letting it load while I sleep I launch it
see that plaion is evil
launch new game
watch the cinematic about not henri
load time
it's long
maybe a bug so I close, go eat come back, set game on potato setting
again the super long load that ends with black screen, no music, loading wheel full, but still spinning.

I tried a few times and naturaly even rebooted my computer just in case
nothing, I can't get past black screen.

if anyone has a solution, I would love to know

restart game
reboot computer
spam esc
launch new game while windowed rather than full screen
verify/repair file

I have the same issue :(
Cant start the game (I also have no save games to load)
After intro and loading screen i just get a black screen with the full loading icon on the lower right corner

Same problem, cinematic, loads for a long time even though I'm way over spec and it's installed on SSD, then black screen.

Damn seems to be a bug of the new patch?

What GPU are you guys using?
In my case its a RTX 4080 Super in a external eGPU case connteted via TB3.
CPU: Intel i9 12900H

don't remember the exact specs, but I know it was above potato setting
some reading while looking for solutions also lend me to think it is a new patch thing

and possibly plaion because any compagny that on a drm free game asks you to sign a license nda while showing a qr code is evil and deserves suspisions.

Hey guys. Had the same issue and found a (stupid) solution for me on Reddit.

When you start the game itself spam the ESC button like mad until you get to the main menu.
Alternativley spam the ESC right after you hit "New game" until the first cinematic scene.

After all that the game starts loading (with pictures and stuff)

I tested it and when you load a save game later, that "spamming" is not needed anymore...

edit: tried and loading still end in black screen

Thx for this help. Sadly it didnt work for me too. I also deleted the shaders and profiles folder and changed everything to low settings and tryed the windowed mode. Nothing helped :S

Someone got it to work?
also Admin rights didnt help :(

looking for answers got me to the plaion tech support
and because of these idiots my computer do not recognize my password, so all I can say is do not look that way

After a Game repair via gog luncher didnt help. I istalled the german voice package and somhow it said the game is damage and it repaired it with a 0.1MB File but it still didnt start.

Now I uninstalled the game and downloaded the 80GB again (GOG Luncher).

Now it works!!! So reinstallation did it..
something is somhow broken which gog luncher cant repair.
Also installed it this time on my C: drive and not on the D: drive

Got mine on G: and it works fine.
I'm wondering if everyone who gets stuck on the black loading screen
fails to get the windows firewall popup ( I do seem to recall that happening
on first launch).
