just started this game a few weeks ago and already not liking the save feature.

did searches for the unlimited save mod, but it looks like it only works for steam version???

Anyone ever get it to work with gog galaxy version???

If you did get it to work, can you post on what you did and where did you put the mod??

Otherwise, probably going to regreat getting this game on gog, and should've gotten on steam.

Good game, except for dieing and having to restart an hour or two from last save. and I do know
about the save/exit feature, but still would be nice to have that unlimited save with gog galaxy version

Thanks in advance if anyone posts info about this.
I don't see any reason why this mod should be Steam specific. It relies on the games' built-in modding mechanics, not some Steam specifics.

Anyway, I gave it a quick test drive. And it seems to work. Note, that I do not use GOG Galaxy. But that shouldn't make any difference, unless mods get removed by Galaxy when checking files or installing new patches for the game.

Here's what I did (note hints below list):

1. Find my savegame folder and make a backup of it
2. Download the "Unlimited Saving - No Schnapps Version" of the mod from Nexusmods
3. Create a folder named "Mods" in my Kingdome Come Deliverance installation folder
4. Unpack the downloaded mod, and copy the "UnlimitedSavingNS" folder into the Mods folder
5. Start the game, and check, if the mod was loaded
6. Give the mod a test drive (after removing all Saviour Schnapps from my inventory :) ): Save, reload, exit, restart the game, pick a fight, buy and sell stuff, save, then reload, ...

After testing, I restored my savegame folder, removed the "Mods" folder, and for now it looks like nothing broke.

Some hints:

The games default savegame folder is %homepath%\Saved Games\kingdomecome -- just press Windows-R, type %homepath%, and press enter. Then look for a folder named "Saved Games". The Saved Games folder name is localized, so you may have to check for whatever terms are used in the language you installed Windows in. Open the Saved Games folder, then make a copy of the "kingdomecome" folder.

I don't know, where GOG Galaxy installs games by default, but that's something you should be able to find in its settings.

For checking, if the mod was loaded you'll need to open the games' console. Depending on your keyboard layout that's the tilde key ("~"), if in doubt try the circumflex key. Check the displayed messages for "[Mod] Opening paks in mods/UnlimitedSavingNS/data/levels/rataje/*.pak". If there's no error messages, chances are, the mod got loaded.

Edit: Add hint to hints :)

Hey ksj8ak2 , thanks for the detailed post and going through the trouble trying to help.
I'll give what you posted above a try in a couple days, and post back results using gog galaxy.
I guess I could just dl and install the game without gog galaxy, but then don't know if my save games
would be interchangeable.
I'll first try your suggestions using my current game.

Hey ksj8ak2, well followed what you wrote, downloaded the mod, put it in my c:\programfiles(x86)\goggalaxy\games\kingdomcomedeliverance folder, made a mod folder there,

Put the mod in it, start game , open game console with ~ key , I have 3 lines addressing this unlimited save mod
I don't see any errors, load game , drop all the savior schnapps, walk around a bit, push escape key and the save
button isn't highlighted, can't click on it.... , so , save and exit, delete that mod folder and put it in the data folder,
and try the game again, but still not able to save game, can save and exit, but not save.

Check the console and it says the mod is opened, 3 lines, but the save option is grayed out still.

Tried several other folders, the data folder, the save game folder , but none allow me to save game...
Thanks for trying to help...
guess I'll just keep using savior schnapps ... for now , not about ready to start over, since I have over 35 hours
in game now ..
Ok, just came across this post on steam and he posted in detail on where to put mod for steam
game, but I just changed path to my gog galaxy directory and it worked !!!
Now unlimited saves ....
this is where I put mod..

C:\program files(x86)\gog galaxy\games\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\UnlimitedSavingNS
C:program files(x86)\gog galaxy\games\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\UnlimitedSavingNS\Data
C:\program files(x86)\gog galaxy\games\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\UnlimitedSavingNS\Data\UnlimitedSaving.pak
C:\program files(x86)\gog galaxy\games\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\UnlimitedSavingNS\mod.manifest

just in case anyone wants to try this mod in future with gog galaxy ...
when I tried the mod at first , I wasn't using the whole mod, I left out the mod.manifest ...

thanks again..
Glad to see you got it working, and thank you for coming back, and posting your solution -- much appreciated :)
I've only just started this game today but the unlimited saves mod was the first one I installed as most reviews seem to recommend it.

Apparently it doesn't work right at the start of the game as initially I thought I was putting the mods in the wrong place. I'm using Galaxy although not the default location. Mine are in c:\games\KingdomCome Deliverance\Mods\

There's also a debate on Steam about how most mods stopped working after a big update a couple of years ago so make sure you have the latest version from Nexus.
