Would be nice if once in a while a game actually performed as advertised w/o the need for constant tweaking, trouble-shooting, and online researching just to get a game to play as advertised - that's all. Guess my expectations are set too high for the current state of the gaming "industry" today.

Just downloaded and installed the latest KCD patch and now the game won't even load the last save - it just remains frozen at a screen about some tourney - only way to get out of it is to CTL-ALT-DEL.

Purchased KCD during GOG's $25 - bundle sale - Christ, whadda mistake that was! Spent more time troubleshooting the game than playing it so I thought this latest patch might improve things a bit. Now I can't play the game at all!

I know that there are many players who really enjoy KCD - I don't see it - but for me I'd rather spend my time playing a game rather than troubleshooting it. Suggestion to the developers, show some respect for the players who do like your game and will likely purchase any of your future games - by hiring a well-funded, large, and most importantly top-notch QA team. Seriously, it'll help.

Did you hold down the esc key until that screen disappears? You have to hold it down instead of just pressing it once.

Yep, held down the ESC key for ~ 30 secs to a minutes a few times but the frozen screen remains. Will give it another try on another day when I am not as annoyed at the game as I am now. Thanks for the suggestion.

That is weird!

I bought the game also on the bundle and used Galaxy to install it a week ago, no problems at all.
Now update 1.7 came and installed all nicely and no problems at all loading save games.

Dunno why some ppl have lotsa problems...

Do you have any mods installed?

Are you sure you followed the upgrade path correctly?

Yes this could have been an amazing game!
I still have some fun in the game but it's pretty annoying dealing with all those bugs.
I also had major issues after the 1.7.1 patch......... doing a reinstall now. Hope it works wanted to do a new game.
