I am holding of on this game as I hear there is still a lot of bugs. How playable is it for the moment with the current patch (I think 1.4.1?) Would you say most problems are solved or is there still a way to go?

I would wait,in the latest patch there are problems with cutscenes,that drives the story onward. I bought the game few days ago, but i rolled back the the version 1.3.4. There atleast the cutscenes work as far as i can tell.

Ask me in 2028 and I'll give you a more informed opinion, but right now, it's a broken mess with the 1.4.1 patch.

Doesn't work at all. Many previous saves crash after 5 minutes into the game - other save games work at first, but crash when you reach certain quest stages - and new games seem to miss most of the cutscenes, so you can't even follow the story.

1.3.1 worked pretty decent tho - if I had made a backup, I'd continue playing that... but I haven't. Guess I should really disable automatic updates for KCD.

By all means - get the game - it's great! But it might happen that you'll need to wait for the next patch in order to play ;D

Oh cooooool! When turning off automatic updates, I just discovered that I can chose older game versions! Nice! I'll revert to 1.3.4 =)

Soooo, to answer your question again: YES, you can get it and just play 1.3.4 which should work well enough until 1.5 hits the shelves, hehe.. he.

There are still many quest bugs. So it's not worth playing right now if you are trying to progress.

Is it any better with the current patches?

The loading times are slow but not a problem to me because with the 1.4.3 patch here from GOG, which is in effect a stability patch, i have had no glitches, no freeze frames, no crashes, cut scenes are really smooth, everything is working.
