had some friends round today to play some KCD but when i started up GOG the game is gone, the launcher is "not up to date" updates won't download because of "disk access" problem.

the irony of this is that an update supposed to fix bugs appears to have killed my game that, up to now i've had no problems with. really fed up with this as it seems like a GOG problem.

do i really have to reinstall the game. i have pretty crappy internet and it will take me a day. all the game files are there bar the launcher so i really don't see why this should be neccesary. i've never had this problem with any other game client and as this is one of the first games i've tried with GOG galaxy i doubt i'll use it again.

i still don't understand how a patch would make the current game unplayable



and now GOG just uninstalled the game without any prompt! really wanted to support GOG but that really is unacceptable. shambolic game client. friends took the bus an hour for this today. proper let down!

There's another thread in this forum with some workarounds about installation troubles but if the game uninstalled itself I don't know how much help they'll be.

For what it might be worth I've been using the Galaxy client for over a year now and never had the trouble you're describing so I'd really suggest reporting the bug to GOG support.

Hope this is the last you'll be seeing of this type of bug, but a shame it happened at all.

thanks a lot, yeah it was a real day ruinier. i've been telling them how great the game was all week and felt more than a little embarrased. i still have no idea what happened.

i was planning on reporting it but that's difficult as i have no idea what happened. the game was there but i was not able to run it. my guess is the patch was in some way corrupted and galaxy just uninstalled and started reinstalling from scratch. luckily my save games were still there.

still sucks though. i've been downloading for 4-5 hours now and i just hit 40%

just want to play this great game i suppose turning off auto updates would have stopped today happening so i'll probably do that
