Why is there not a Deluxe Edition version of this game on GOG? Steam seems to have it.
Ok I just purchased this game. I hope that if the Dev ever wants to bring the soundtracks to GOG, he does it separately and not with a Deluxe Edition. It wouldn't be fair if I couldn't get the Deluxe Edition tile because I purchased this game when the Deluxe Edition wasn't available.

Thanks for your message, I understand your concern. We did ask GOG about offering our soundtrack as DLC and a deluxe version, which included it, but at the moment, they don't support this so that's why you only see the one purchase option. If they did offer DLC in future, we would definitely make sure everything was fair for our early supporters like you :)

In the meantime, if you'd like to listen to the soundtrack, you can do so here: https://soundcloud.com/secretgamescompany/sets/kim-soundtrack
I often buy the "deluxe" version of games; and frequently, separate soundtracks if there isn't a 'packaged' option (and all dependent on pricing that I find reasonable) - and for this one have been waiting for GOG to have the soundtrack and deluxe editions available.

I'd like to purchase Kim, on GOG, with a soundtrack. I DO NOT buy from Steam,

Has this been revisited at all since the original disposition?

[Hopefully the devs still check in from time to time...]

We do indeed, sorry it wasn't sooner. Our deluxe edition on Steam only includes the soundtrack as DLC, otherwise it's the same as the GOG version (currently on sale so good timing!) GOG doesn't have a soundtrack player, which is why we didn't do the deluxe version with them but if you would like to buy Kim's soundtrack direct from us, you can email hello@secretgamescompany.com and I will arrange it with you.

Thank you for the helpful reply. :)

I don't grok why there needs to be a 'soundtrack player'?

If the tracks are in the typical formats (FLAC / MP3 / OGG? other? ) then pretty much everyone already has one or more 'players'.

I do appreciate the offer to allow me to purchase it directly. Will keep it in mind. Although I REALLY WOULD PREFER it to be in my GOG Library; from where I could dl it when I want/need to and also kept together with my other 700+ library items (and the base game, Kim, if I were to purchase it).

I'll think about the direct purchase option (but will probably pass - for those mentioned reasons).

OTOH, the sale is 5-days more; still perhaps time to revisit GOG and make that Soundtrack available - here! :)

Cheers

Ah sorry, I was unclear, my recollection is that we weren't able to do the soundtrack as DLC because GOG didn't have a player - it was back when the game entered the Games In Development program so my memory is hazy and the issue may have been that it wasn't yet a fully released game.

I'm very happy to provide the soundtrack to GOG if they would like to sell it! I'll email our contact and try and sort it out quickly. Can't promise we'll get it up before the end of the sale but I'll let you know what they say when I hear back, which should be tomorrow.

Hi again Martek, good news, the soundtrack should be available on GOG soon. Whatever reason we had for not doing it at the start of Early Access no longer applies so thanks for the suggestion! I don't know if it'll make the end of the sale but I'll keep you posted.

That's great news!

I really do appreciate it.

Most often I do grab a soundtrack (and/or Deluxe Edition if available) and I really do like keeping everything under as few accounts as possible. While I do have a Steam account; I've only ever purchased two games on it (Fallout 3 & Fallout New Vegas) and I prefer it that way.

GOG is my 'home for games"; where I I have over 700 purchases in my library (as previously noted).

This allows me to grab Kim (which has been on my Wishlist since it's release - awaiting the Soundtrack <g>) during THIS SALE and await the Soundtrack as a later buy.

And right now is good timing - because I'm 'between' some games and looking for something new to occupy my time. Kim looks good... <g>

Thanks again :)

[EDIT] p.s. I guess it would be good to know if the soundtrack will be a separate DLC purchase; or instead, a "Deluxe Edition" that includes it. If the latter, and no 'upgrade path' will also be there; then I would need to await that Delixe edition, instead of purchasing the 'regular' edition now. Any info in that area? Thanks!

Thanks Martek, that's great to hear :) The soundtrack will be a DLC purchase and there won't be a deluxe version - we felt this would be simpler rather than setting up a whole new SKU. There will be a 'Series Discount' of $1 when you buy both the game and the DLC. I'm afraid I am not sure if this discount only applies if both items are bought at the same time or not, which would be quite useful info for you but perhaps you know how these tend to work? We will be using the same system as other games, I was sent this as an example of a Series Discount in action: https://gyazo.com/1bc1219dfd15e0cac8f65d36a81116b3

Hey! I see it.

I missed the sale, but I've added the soundtrack to my wishlist (joining Kim there) and will definitely grab them both on the next one. Kim looks fun and interesting and I look forward to playing it.

Thanks for following through and making a more complete package available!
Thank you again for bringing the OST here to GOG.

I just purchased both the game and OST on the GOG Big Deal Sale.

Can't wait to give it some time!
Our pleasure, thanks for the suggestion! Hope you enjoy it :)
