yes, but rest of the game worsk fine
oddly enough running as windows 95/98 fixes the fmv's and intro and colours but it runs the game very slow for whatever reason.

if you run as windows NT 4.0 the fmv and intro will be fine but some of the colours will be missing from the main menu.

Did any1 ever find a fix for the partial working videos in the mannor?
Having the same problem. It's weird that some work and some won't seeing as all the videos are .avi files in the same folder. Maybe some are corrupted?
I compared the GOG version with the version available at Zoom Platform (both DRM-free versions of the game). In the GOG version some of the mansion cutscenes are not working as we already know. In the Zoom version however all cutscenes are playing 100% fine.

Because of that I tried to replace the GOG avi files with the Zoom avi files but still in the GOG version the same "The system cannot find a decompressor that can decompress this movie" message appeared. So it can't be a problem with the avi files. It must be some problem with an ingame trigger not working correctly. I'm not sure if that could be fixed at all.

For some unknown reason I was not abe to record videos or create some screenshots from the game but here is an older video of the Zoom version 1.2 (still the current version) showing one cutscene that doesn't work in the GOG version: https://youtu.be/BuwybJ-qi-Y?t=13m41s
I actually replaced the videos folder with the video folder of the original cd (i though i am clever...) but the same thing happens.I don't know if it needs a older codec or the videos themselves need recoding and re-saving as avi format...I hope somebody smarter finds a solution...

If it would be a problem with how the videos are encoded then all ingame cutscenes wouldn't work. But since most of them work but some don't it's clearly a problem with ingame triggers not working correct. My guess is that using some kind of launcher for the GOG version has broke some stuff ingame.

The also DRM-free ZOOM version does use the old method of killing the explorer.exe to work and all cutscenes are working in that version. The support told me that they are unable to track down the problem so I assume this bug will unfortunately never really be fixed. :(

I compared the batch files. The ZOOM "with cutscenes" batch file has more instructions than the GoG one. That's where the solution is.
