WIn10 64bit. Modern PC, no problem with other recent games.

Just installed the latest versions of KSP + both DLC's.

After launching and flying an aircraft (I'm playing with heli's and quads ATM), and having a bad landing (rapid unplanned disassembly), sometimes when I try to reset to the assembly building, the game crashes/freezes.

Is it just me?

EDIT. This time it crashed when I clicked the VAB immediately after launching the game. It must have something to do with the VAB. The background sound changes to the correct VAB sounds and continue while the screen is black and frozen. Have to use task manager to quit the game.

This is what it looks like when it freezes/crashes.

i'm experiencing severe hang ups ingame when i try to load some scenes, i believe it started after latest upadte 1.12.x... most often when i try to recover a vessel or when i'm changing from flying a vehicle to space center, game becomes unresponsive and i may have to close it.
i even restarted with minimum mods, just MJ, Astrogator, Better time warp (none of which give issues ingame.. i'm not suspecting them from causing it..).
Dunno what to do to help, posting so i can keep track of helpful posts :)
There's a new patch 1.12.2 out on Steam today Aug 3, 21. It's the last major patch for KSP as development moves to KSP2 and things get scaled WAY back pm KSP 1. They are still bug tracking and may release minor updates, but this is mostly it for the current version.

Hopefully the new patch will fix your problems.
Already installed that. Still getting same crash. Error report attached. No idea what it means. Tried a search and found nothing.

Edit: Incorrect assessment removed.

The fault is intermittent. I thought I had pinned it down, but I was wrong. More testing required. :(

I think I've cracked it. Found this tip on the Unity forum.

Make sure your drivers are up-to-date, then do this:

Right-click the desktop shortcut to KSP. Append -force-d3d11 to the target, after the quotation marks.

VAB seems to be working now. Yey!
