Hi,

Any news on the last 2 acts? The review mentions they'll be "released over 2014".
There's not much time left for that... Been holding back playing until all acts are out so I can experience the full story

Cheers,

Peter
Yes, I thought it seemed unlikely when I first saw the GOG gamecard. There's no news about them on Cardboard Computer's sites or Twitter feed, although there is this.

Act III was delayed quite a lot, partly by one of the interludes. I expect the same is happening with the others. Thus far they've always released stuff eventually, just very slowly and without many announcements in between.
For what it's worth, the game is so weird I don't mind being stopped in the middle of it. I set the game aside midway through Act III without really meaning to, and when I came back to it I'd forgotten what I was supposed to be doing.

I'll pick it up again sooner or later, but in the meantime I'm kind of okay with our heroes just sort of wandering around the last place they stopped. This is more or less what everyone else in the game is doing, and in general there is so little forward motion, so little at stake, I honestly won't be a bit surprised if Act V ends with the main characters stopped at the side of the road.

It probably sounds like I'm slamming this game. Nope, I'm recommending it - but only if you've got a taste for gentle Lynchian weirdness and a love for ambiguity and subtext, maybe even the phony kind that never amounts to anything. With that said, this is not Dear Esther or The Stanley Parable. It's a good story about interesting people, I'm just kind of at a loss to say why.
Six months later and still no word. Anything GOG can provide on this?
Doing a bit of research, it seems that the devs have been rather silent up until last month. Publicly, the only info I've seen on an update is
"Still at it! We're happy with the direction it's going, but definitely taking longer than we'd hoped. Nowhere to go but thru!"
However, they are apparently sending out a semi-regular newsletter to the people on their mailing list. How do you sign up for said mailing list? It's hidden in the game files, of course! (What?!?)

Look for a file called "subscribe_to_mailing_list.txt" in the game folder. If, like me, you haven't installed the game yet, you can ask them to sign you up by sending them a message via Twitter. They'll follow you back and send you a DM with a subscription link. If you don't have Twiiter, you can e-mail them at: cardboardcomputer@gmail.com

Why all the hoops to jump through just to add more spam to your e-mail inbox? I have no idea. Still, if you want to know how development on the last two acts is going, it seems like the only way, because their websites are no help whatsoever.

Wow, that's...user-unfriendly. If anyone is already subscribed, please share your pertinent newsletter contents with us. Assuming there's been any.

Thanks for the info mate!
I'm losing hope. Is Cleve Blakemore working on this damn game?

No clue I've been hoping for something for a long damn while. I've been putting off doing act 3 till 4 is released but it doesn't seem like anything is happening.

Touchy, but at least it's communication.

Touchy indeed... It's easy for them to complain that this slow process might be frustrating to some people, they already got our money, right?

Here's the latest ... from November 24th 2015:

Here they say Act IV is almost finished. Like I said: in November. Let's see. They haven't posted on their Twitter account since late November. Sketchy. Anyone else got any better news?

Should this be a warning example, a lesson maybe, to never buy season passes before the last season is actually published? I don't know. The first three acts were interesting, but I'm not certain whether it was worth the wait.
This is why I don't buy episodic games any more. Hope you're paying attention, GOG.
I've been meaning to replay this game, but only once the release date for the next Act is really close. I guess the devs have abandoned it. But the existing Acts are still great in their own right.

At this point, I'm holding onto anything I can.

I trust it'll happen, I just don't know when, and at least that screenshot looks good.
