Hi,

I just bought the 'Kathy Rain' game and wondered if there is a way to make the resolution of the game smaller?

I managed to run it on windowed mode via changing 'windowed=0' to 'windowed=1' in acsetup.cfg, but then the window is so big it expands beyond my screen.
Also, I am not able to change the window size with 'defaultres' or 'screenres'?!

I'm using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) with OS X 10.11.3.

Is there a way to change the resolution of the game at all?

Cheers,
S.

Hi there, you can set the size of the window with gfxfilter=StdScaleX where X is the multiplier of the original 320x240. So, "gfxfilter=StdScale2" for instance will launch the game in a 640x480 window.
Hi.
Just to further inform this thread: I just followed both guidelines (from stefan.gorka and Krusbert of Clifftop Games) and the results are exactly as suggested.

That has created a new problem: The cursor's delimitations.

When Kathy Rain is launched in that forced window, the cursor starts within the game window's borders but can easily leave the game area into the desktop if one is not careful.
Although the cursor can be recovered by selecting the window's title bar, this situation is not exactly optimal.

The acsetup.cfg file doesn't have any areas for cursor or the screen. It includes only these parameters for the mouse:
[mouse]
speech_hold=0
speed=2.200000
speed_def=current_display
There doesn't seem to be an obvious way by which to limit the mouse cursor to the game area.

Hopefully someone else can add to this thread with a mechanism to stop the cursor from leaving the windowed game.
(^_^)
