Concerning JP3

Hello, I'm interested in this game, it would be an instant buy for me as I have been wanting to get the full experience of re-playing this old game I used to play when I was younger.

However ,I've been warned and I have seen the various posts in this forum about the game not working properly, especially when it comes to the audio.

I heard a fix could be possible via Scummvm.

The purpose of this thread is mainly to remind the folk here at GoG that , this game is in need of a fix. And if you also would like to play this game. please use this thread as a voice to reach the GoG staff.

Personally, when it gets fixed, I buy it! Thanks in advance.

Same for me, I would love to play this game but from what I can glean from the reviews and comments on this forum, the game doesn't seems to be in a state that seems enjoyable right now.

I have a post around here that says how to get JP3 working just fine on Win11. There's a lot of existing posts where they couldn't get it working, its not like I can add it everywhere. People don't see it, I can't do anything about it :)

An "audio issue" though: To me, and I played through it entirely, there wasn't an audio problem for me to deal with. It could be some people are bothered by something I'm not, that I didn't have their problem, or that its not in most of the game. I don't know which and won't be playing this game again to look into it anyway.

I don't feel its an acceptable warning to give from my experience, but idk. Another way of saying it, no audio (or related) issue was visible to me to stop me from me playing it. If its bad enough I would have found what it was and fixed it before playing the other 99% of it. I have a completely opposite point of view.

SCUMMVM would be a good solution but development of that software seems to be based on a series of personal pet projects, meaning that unless someone wants to do it, it's not gonna happen. However, they got Myst 3 working and that's probably a lot closer to Legacy of Time than whatever weird version of Director that JP1 was made in.
