Hi. When I try to launch Pegasus Prime, it goers to a black screen that won't let me alt-tab or control alt delete out of. I submitted a ticket already and got the basic troubleshooting reply, which I did all of before I even submitted a ticket. Has anyone else had issues getting this to launch? I tried all of the compatibility settings and ran as admin (using Win 7) and nothing has worked so far.

Thanks,
Brian

Since you're on Windows 7, you can try accessing the compability tab for the executable file and clicking disable desktop composition.

You can also set the app to launch directly to Windowed mode by editing the INI preferences file. The pathname details are posted at http://thejourneymanproject.com/presto/journeymanprime/support.html

Ok, I tried the compatibility tab and so far nothing is working on there. Desktop Composition didn't work and I also tried disabling themes as well. Interestingly, when I made it go into windowed mode, a warning popped up, saying: FSNode:createReadStream: 'Pegasus Prime.ini' does not exist! Default configuration file missing, creating a new one.
It hangs on this, but at least since it's in a window, I can move around it., This did trigger an alert from Comodo and I listed it as a trusted program. What confuses me, is that it says the .ini doesn't exist... but the file was there earlier (i had to edit it to make it go into windowed mode). Also weird is that I am not able to close that window by hitting the X. Also hitting end process on task manager doesn't work.

On a whim, though, I tried to close the box again by right clicking on the window, which is named Launch the Journeyman Project... I clicked the top option, enabled Launch The Journeyman Project Pegasus Prime and it opened a second window and the game launched from there! However, even when I backed out, the color scheme is still on basic and that first window is still stuck open (the one mentioning the missing .ini screen). I'm going to restart and see if this keeps happening.

Ok, I have no idea why it did that before, but it resolved itself now. Opens and closes normally. Never seen anything like that before. Thanks, Gage. :)
Well, thanks for the info.

I tried disabling the Desktop Composition, but that did not help, I still got the black screen and had to do another hard-reset of my computer to reboot and get back to Windows. After I edited the .ini file to turn full-screen mode off, I was able to see that my firewall wanted me to confirm that the program was a trusted program, before allowing it to run further (which, of course, I could not see nor interact with before, as I could not Alt-TAB out of the game screen to do so).

After letting my firewall know the game was okay to run, I went back to the .ini file and set fullscreen to on, again, and the game started just fine.

(I posted this in case someone else has the firewall issue, this way they know how to deal with it, as well.)

How do I request a refund? Not really interested in trying to fix a broken game. I played the original back in the day, and for there to be problems now seems inexcusable.
