I've been noticing a problem when I restart a game in Pegasus Prime. I get to the Ready Room for the first jump to the Jurassic period and I find I can't pick up the mapping and Pegasus biochips. I can pick up the key just fine, but the cursor never acknowledges the chips as an object that can be picked up. This happens when I quit to the main menu and start again from the beginning.

It's a side effect that's turning up with "speed-running". Players in a hurry will zip through and cancel the theory+background+procedure videos at the Command Center. Clicking to play all 3 videos will trigger the temporal rip and the ability to pick up the Journeyman Key, but if it is canceled too quickly before a few frames of the video have played, then the condition to allow you to pick up the mission biochips will not be triggered. This used to not be an issue with slower computers of yesteryear, but the best workaround for now is to let a second or two of each video play before canceling.

EDIT: Our programmers also found a bug in which this condition is being stored in saved game files, and will even carry over into a new game because this scrambled setting is not being flushed from game memory. If you end up stuck from being unable to acquire the mission biochips and wish to start over, we recommend quitting and restarting the game application to make absolutely sure this issue does not turn up in a new game. The programmers are aware of this and are working on a fix.

Thank you, Gage. Now, could you answer a personal question, just between a fan of your work and yourself -- how did you become such a doof in Pegasus Prime? You have a Master's in History and you were top of the class in Special Forces. Where did the discipline go that you're chronically oversleeping and late 4 times? Caldoria can't be that infested with flies and people jaunting to the garden on the roof.

Leave me alone. I'm up late working on my Ph.D.

Yeah, I can't seem to access them in my inventory from my macbook running windows. There doesn't seem to be a backspace or a * key that will let me cycle through them. Yeah Gage, I'll admit I hated you in all the games except The Legacy of Time.

Have you tried the delete key in place of the backspace key? Why aren't you using the native Mac OS X app?
This problem occurred on my new Mac mini [Mac OS Yosemite] playing the 2014 DVD-ROM version with the updated patch (1.6.0) -- however it wasn't from a saved game. I hadn't saved my game at all and I was just starting the prehistoric level when my 'Magic Mouse' scroll function suddenly launched Agent 5 over the cliff at the level's start point. I was planning on saving my first game at the start of this prehistoric level, but it was too late due to the aforementioned 'Magic Mouse' mishap.

So I had to restart a whole new game from the main menu. I didn't rush anything and explored everywhere, etc., and watched all of the videos all the way through in the Command Center. But once in the Ready Room, I could not pick up the two Biochips since the "grab" function on the cursor wasn't being triggered at all.

For a solution, I had to resort to a complete deletion and a complete reinstall of the game. So far, so good -- and I'm saving more often and I'm back to my old 5-button Kensington mouse. So, in short, this game still needs an update. Thank you.

1.6.0 is the version number of the underlying ScummVM engine. Are you running the March 2014 build or the June 2014 build for the DVD-ROM? The latter should fix the bugs you're encountering.

FYI, the updated installers that just went up on GOG's servers fix the aforementioned issues too.
