Installing through MiniGalaxy and Heroic launcher and trying to run spits out a "./start.sh: line 20: cd: gamedosbox: No such file or directory" error, though the folder is right there. I also tried running the install.sh script and it still gave the error, after pgdning through 1400 lines of the GPL text, I might add.

I also tried copying over the installation folder from Windows and trying to get Proton or plain Wine to recognize the "Jazz Jackrabbit\DOSBOX\DOSBox.exe" -conf "..\dosbox_jazz.conf" -conf "..\dosbox_jazz_single.conf" -noconsole -c "exit" launch shortcut, but it didn't like it either.

Why not just use one of the source ports instead?
Nevermind. Got it running smoothly by tweaking dosbox frame skip settings.

Steam Deck is a nightmare for editing text config files if you don't have an external bluetooth keyboard, I can tell you. Whose bloody idea was it to include a sophomoric emoji button on the onscreen keyboard and not a ctrl, alt or esc key?

Are you using GOG's DOSbox or DosBox staging? Because the game will look kilometers better in Staging with the configuration reconfigured.

worth emphasizing that OpenJazz is in no way a source port, not being based on the game's source code
