I upgraded to Win8Pro the last days and now I have serious Performance Problems during the game. It runs really slow and is hardly playable in the Tactical Screen.

The game was running perfectly on Win7.

Does anyone have a Solution, how I could Increase the Performance again?

Used Resulotion 640*480 (higher Resulotions are even worse)

You can try to run the game in Win 7 Compatibility-Mode. Maybe it helps.
I don't have Win 8, so I can't test it myself.

I encountered the same problem today.

Try the following two methods.
I had to apply both of them (in the exact order as mentioned below) to get the game to work.

[edit] link was missing, sorry.

... hmm, since I can't post links here ( why not? ), I will just copy&paste the info here (with edits regarding the links). You will have to google for the necessary files yourself, I'm afraid.

what the f...?! Ok, apparently I need Angel/OA clearance or something, since half of the information was missing from my previous post. Next try: I will attach a jpeg with the descriptions. Hope it works.

Hey, thanks for the Info i give it a try when I have some spare time!
So, I tried to follow the advice of extracting wined3d with winzip, but I couldn't figure out how? Can anyone help?
Hi Measle,

I don't think it's going to work with winzip (or winrar).
With 7-zip you should be able to open the file like any other archive.
Hi, I have the same bad performance problem under Windows 10.

So I tried to download and extract the Wine DLLs.
But in the SYSDIR folder, there is no "ddraw.dll" like the screenshot says.

What to do now?

Edit:

I found a solution myself.
The latest WineD3D.exe doesn't contain ddraw.dll.
But the previous version, 1.1.38 does.

For me the 3 DLL files are enough to fix the bad Windows 10 performance.
I don't need to run the game at 16-bit colors, as admin, or in XP compatibility mode.
Maybe the XP mode will give even more performance to older PCs.

Thank you for the WineD3D info.
