It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Kasseopea: Refusing to upload a 3mb file because of reasons only makes it more suspicious.
That's ok, no one forces you to download. Certianly not me.

You refusing to take a hint and use the right tools for the right job makes me annoyed. A working solutuion already exists. It's not my problem if you refuse to use it.
So the site was reported for hosting illegal stuff. Wouldn't be the first time. If you think that's dangerous, well, that's up to you. If you don't trust me or the guy who uploaded it, that's perfectly fine.
As long as there is a working solutuon, I certainly won't upload protected software and won't create a second account in order to hide it.

The optimal solution would be THQ offering that download anyway.

I guess it's like they say: you can't always get what you want.

*Shrug* So you're just being the scammer then, what do I care. You're trying too hard. There is no "working solution" to downloading from a malware infested website.

Anyway, would be nice if someone would upload to any non-malware-website.

100% noob question but I'm not familiar with GoG. How do I install the nexus mods to the game? i've tried extracting to the modtools folder and even taking the specific .lua/.hpk files and pasting there, and to the main game folder and creating a mods folder and none of it works...

Same as the previous upload:
%appdata%\Jagged Alliance 3\Mods

Hint: Always read the documentation on the mod download page :)

I'm sure this is painful for anyone reading this, but I can't find any %appdata%\Jagged Alliance 3\
path

Also the active pause mod has no documentation: https://www.nexusmods.com/jaggedalliance3/mods/13

For GoG games the game is "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Jagged Alliance 3

There's no path I can find involving appdata

I've attached a screenshot showing where the game files are located (including the 'mod tools' folder that was part of the game download files themselves)
Attachments:
The directory is created once you start the game for the first time.
But you can always create it yourself
goto %appdata%
then create a directory called "Jagged Alliance 3"

I don't know aobut the other mod's description, didn't check them out. I was only referring to the one mod in question in this topic.

A sidenote: Data is being put in %appdata% (sometimes %localappdata% or %appdata%\..\Roaming), because usually it requires admin rights to write into "C:\Program Files" / "C:\Program Files (x86)" and that's a big nono these days, that's how it was done ~20 years ago before Microsoft learned how to manage access rights and force programmers to actually use them properly. The programmers of JA3 seem to follow the modern standards, thumbsup.

Dear diary. Today I met a benevolent wizard on the internet.

Seriously, thank you.

If you could give me baby steps on how to get a modded Fallout 3 to run I will straight up pay you in crypto or via Binance :)
You're welcome.
Sadly I have no clue how mods in Fallout 3 are being handled.

Can't blame me for asking ;)

I was about to uninstall JA3 without the pause/% to hit indicators. Thanks again.
Modding Fallout 3 is pretty damn easy these days. Just get the vortex mod manager from here.
https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/
It's a simple app that integrates with the nexus site that hosts a massive collection of mods for pretty much any popular game.
Then just go here and pick any mod you'd like.
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3
They all have links to download and get them working with the mod manager.
