kakiss4: Waiting a Week isn't really a Problem.
Having no Date at all is one.
True. Very unprofessional from GOG side. I always prefered GOG over Steam, but
I guess time to change my mind.

I am considering to buy a game on steam again to get DLC and then forget about gog forever.

I will wait one day more, if no DLC or even small news about date then I am gone.
for fellow Aussies it's about $20 on Steam.
Yeah also waiting for the GOG one as that's where my version is.

Also anyone know of when the Switch version lands?

Runs very well on the Switch once you unlock the frame rate lol (there's a code ingame for that)
Why the wait tho?. To see how it succeeds or to use guinea pigs to find out bugs to fix them later before the GOG version gets upped?...
As someone mentioned before I'd as well guess that it is due to the non-DRM nature a release on GOG would have.

Well, doesn't get much "later this week" than friday I'd say. I'm starting to get a bit pissed to be honest since I don't think this is an issue of GOG but rather one on the side of 3DRealms.
Seriously! The weekend has come and still no GOG release!
Yeah, this is just frustrating now. I don't necessarily mind the wait, it's the TBA status of it all that is infuriating.
Guess it's save to say this Expansion will not arrive this week. I'm starting to fucking hate 3D Realms. Bunch of liars.
It's friday and we didn't get jackshit. Amazing. The same fucking thing happened with the Amid Evil expansion pack and now guess what, it happens again. And yeah, i don't fuck with this new 3DR, but i can put that blame on GOG too, because this is not the first time and not gonna be the last either, they never learn. They shit on us consumers, keep failing in delivery the product. Idk man, maybe it's time to back to Steam.
For those wondering what is going on this is via 3DRealm's Discord from one of the IF devs.

"it's not GOG's fault, I haven't even tried to do a build for GOG yet
we can't really be patching things every day with GOG and I wanted to make sure some extra stuff that needed to be finished in the game was actually right before sending it over"

"I know there's Galaxy and whatnot so frequent patches there are a possibility now but most of the people who actually prefer to buy stuff on GOG seem to prefer it so they can get away from stuff like Steam, not use an alternative to it
tl;dr we're making extra sure we fix all the softlocks etc that people have found"

"the last thing we want is for the people who like to download the standalone installers to have to go and download it again every couple days because we missed stuff in testing
it's about to where I want it to be though"

No update on a release just "When it's done"

Thanks for communicating that.

I have enough games that I'm not in a rush to play Aftershock right now but what I find really frustrating is that the devs are apparently unable to make an announcement here or on their twitter.
If memory serves, 'We won't give you what you're asking for because we believe you'd prefer not to have it' was also their line re. achievement support.

No way, where they post that? Unbelievable.
Think in a way it is GOG's fault. These stores should require that they get the bits at the same time as any other store. Now if they were beta bits and GOG said hold off or if GOG required it to be a standalone installer and on GOG Galaxy on day of release then that's one uhh two things but if the dev/pub decides they want to release the beta bits on one store for the guinea pigs but not on the other store then that's another thing.

Anyone know if the Steam ver has Steam DRM or any other DRM?
Does it work with eduke32?

I too have many games to play so I'll be waiting for the actual "finished" version (likely not the GOG release version going by the above....) but for those who like "early access" or beta crap then the above would be nice to know.

Not here, naturally, but I'm repeating what was reported by https://www.gog.com/forum/ion_fury/achievements/post4

It's a paraphrase, not a quotation; sorry if that was unclear.

Apparently it's possible to compile a binary for it:

That's at least a somewhat plausible reason for the delayed release on GOG. Thanks for posting this. Though I still don't get why they don't just communicate stuff like this properly. Would definitely have been better than leaving people in the dark for a whole week for absolutely no reason. Man, would have loved to be able to play it this weekend. Oh well.
