I was able to launch the game yesterday, play for about an hour or so but today it won't start at all. Either from Galaxy or the .exe file the game starts directly in a console mode and immediately freezes. Both the console and the crashlog file read as follows:

this has been fixed today, as of patch 1.0.32 :)

I can confirm the game launches normally after the latest patch.

However, if I understood correctly from reading on other forums, the problem had to do with the corruption of the settings file. It appears that the patch only fixed the launching of the game part; the settings file keeps getting corrupted somehow as some of the rebinded keys keep reverting to the default values after each game initialization.

Keys rebinding and full-screen mode are the only settings that I've changed via the in-game menu.

could you please tell me which actions you rebind to which keys? this could be the problem
if it's not too much trouble, please try rebinding actions to the keys you usually use one-by-one, to see which one is causing the problem, and then report it here

also, do you have a standard QWERTY keyboard or something exotic?

Standard QWERTY keyboard here, nothing fancy.

I'm using the arrow keys for movement and keys around that keyboard area for actions instead of WSAD, Q, E, etc. After fiddling with the rebinds, one at a time as asked, and them reverting to the defaults, I've narrowed the possible problem to the - and = keys.

Previously Backspace was available for rebinding and I used to use it and the = key for the Drop Weapon / Drop Armor actions. Since Backspace cannot be used anymore I tried rebinding the two keys next to it, - and =, for Drop Weapon and Drop Armor actions. As soon as I rebind either one or the other, the next time I start the game one or all the previously rebinded keys revert to the defaults. I'm now using the [ and ] keys for dropping weapons and armor and the settings file seems to be stable.

If I may ask, right now in order to continue an active campaign from the main menu one has to click on the Saved Games button and then choose the most recent save file from the list. Would it be possible to add a new button on the main screen labeled Continue Campaign or something similar to auto-load the most recent save and go straight into the action?

thanks a lot for the testing, I'll try to reproduce tomorrow!
as for a continue button - definitely, I was actually thinking of adding it myself, since I noticed some people didn't realize they could save and load the game, and thought they had to complete the previously finished level again in order to keep playing through the story
