cannot exit this game without invoking the task manager. it freezes when before I quit.

I loaded, started mission. Couldn't move my ship or do anything--I spammed keyboard and the only hotkey that worked was taking a screenshot. I then finally closed it in frustration to try and load again since I couldn't find controls anywhere and now it is showing the into the stars splash rectangle but now it won't go past that / reload.

Also I can't find a manual anywhere. Is there any support for this game?

EDIT: Finally got it to load again somehow and checked options and wrote down this time:

Shift = Accelerate
Ctrl - Decelerate / Reverse Thruster
Steer left Q
Pitch Nose Down W
Steer Right E
Roll Left A
Pitch Nose Up S
Roll Right D
C Toggle captain /eternal view

Middle mouse free/follow lock.

Left/rick click hold and rotate

F interact on prompt

Which is fine I guess...but after I launch a few mission probes and then enemy is said to be enroute suddenly none of my controls are working. Also where is there not a menu or a save game option? I only see a load option when I go in but haven't found a way to save it. I've had to hit the x to close it every time so far and it hasn't asked if I want to save.
