I play Into the breach on a 3000x2000 resolution laptop.
There doesn't seem to be a resolution setting for the game, so, it uses the GPU and drains the battery way more than it should, event with fps locked at 60, I'd like to run the game at 1500x1000 instead. For now I use the "run at 640x480" windows settings and that fixes the GPU usage problem but now the game is kinda low res and it's a drag to return to the regular resolution manualy when I guit the game.
Not to be harsh, but sounds like a pretty basic requirement to have such a setting in a game.

Is there a fix for this? Am I dumb and missing something?

Thank you, and still an awesome game on all accounts btw.

You must use the console, take a look at the following guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1321283101

Press the back quote/tilde (` / ~) key to open the console, default commands are shown by executing 'help'
Type resolution <width> <height>

thanks Vythonaut! However that seems only to change the size of the window in windowed mode, and have no effect in full screen mode (ontop of requiring a qwerty layout)

Well, the french layout shouldn't be much of a problem (there are workarounds), but if you really want to play in full screen instead of windowed mode, that can be a problem. Unfortunately i don't have any advice to share, but you can always ask the support team about that. ;)

You can't run game in a lower resolution and have it fullscreen. Nowadays LCD matrices still need something in between to make an upscale of the picture. Therefore it has to be done either by GPU or by CPU. So, your question should sound more like: "How to force game to make upscale by CPU?" Windows laptops usually have an option to select GPU to run a progam on. Set default one for ITB to the 'Integrated video' and see if it helps. Alternatively you may try and experiment with DxWnd utility.

Of course you can. IIf the game does not offer that option then you can change this setting directly in video driver.
