So, what to do? complete new install?

if so, how to save progress in my "save file" - which i didnt find at first glance.
I would try updating with the full installer, also make a backup of the savegame before installing just in case.
You can find your savegame in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Into The Breach
