Click play, Galaxy says syncing cloud saves, and then nothing happens. Not even a window opens or anything. Anyone else having an issue?

Yes, works on my desktop, crashes on startup on my laptop. I do get black window - the game is launching, but fails. Disabling cloud saves had no effect.
I'm getting the same thing. CTD as soon as the game opens.

I fixed it. Go to setttings and disable in-game overlay.

Crushes for me too. Also on Laptop. ( FTL works perfectly. )

I tried everything - disbling overlay, cloud saves, running as admin, reverting to older versions, reinstalling ...

Nothing worked.

Perhaps the game has problem with laptops ?

The game also crashes for me everytime right when the loading bar reaches full. I was reviewing logs from multiple tries and I found different errors there (error.txt and io_test.txt are always empty):

Had this, too. It doesn't seem to crash when I start from the program folder directly. I don't get achievements this way, but at least I can play....
I have this problem if Steam is running on my computer.
I was in contact with devs. They worked all nighter. The new patch fixes it all !

Thanks !
Well i got also a crash but it was because of my firewall.
Don't know why the game need to pass through my firewall to start.
Game crashes for me too. Win 7, Intel HD 520. Patch doesn't help. I think I'll ask for a refund.
Similar boat here. I've filed a trouble report, because I would like to play this, but here's the error in my log file. I have an Intel 4400, which exceeds the requirements of Intel 3000:

Creating OpenGL Context...
Video Initialized
Framebuffers not supported.
GL_ARB_texture_rectangle and GL_ARB_texture_non_power_of_two not supported. Computer under minimum specs.
Opengl version = 1.1.0
SDL Error: wglSwapIntervalEXT(): The operation completed successfully.

Evidently I have the latest drivers for my Intel card, so that's not it.
I have the answer:

Open the Intel graphics card panel, go to 3d, go to Performance, and use all the 'Use application settings' type options.

This assumes you're using the latest Intel Graphics drivers. Once I did that, it launched just fine. Cheers!
My GOG Galaxy kept crashing even after a reinstall. So I checked the program folders and found this file:

C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\lock-files\GalaxyClient.exe.lock

After deleting this file, GOG Galaxy worked again.
