I'm trying to get this game to work under Wine. GOGLauncher.exe does not seem to work at all, and I spent a bit of time trying to figure it out.

It turned out that it's easy enough to just run the original "'i76.exe" by setting Wine to emulate Windows 95. Works nicely, no patches required, initially I was very happy.

Then I realized there was no in-game music at all! PCGamingWiki says that you need the GOGLauncher.exe wrapper in order to have music. So now I'm back at square one.

When I run the game using the standard shortcut that GOG provides, I end up just getting an empty console window. If I wait for a few seconds I get a black screen. This entire time the whole thing takes 0% CPU. I applied this patch to make it run in Windows XP mode:

printf '\xEB\x22' | dd of=i76.exe bs=1 seek=626025 count=2 conv=notrunc

I also tried installing "winetricks glidewrapper" but that didn't help. Doesn't fix the music issues with i76.exe and doesn't fix the problem with GOGLauncher.exe

I'd like to know if anyone else had better luck.

Yeah, actually. Did you actually do that patch in the directory and make sure to prune out the $?

I'm using Lutris, telling it to run in a window, and applied the patch from the WineHQ bug page.
