Both games work for me in Windows XP 32. I haven't played them extensively, but they launch in Glide mode, have music, don't crash, and Taurus's car drives smoothly. One problem, though, is the ingame menus are blank, but that's another thread.
But I also have a Windows 7 64-bit machine, and I'm trying to get the games to work on it for the sake of future proofing, and haven't had any luck so far.
In I76, all the other cars are wobbly and travel very slowly and jerkily, so I can't finish the first mission. Curiously, the menus work fine.
Nitro will not run at all. It does nothing for a few seconds, then a window pops up that says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."
For both games, the render mode makes no difference. I've tried all three. Windows 95 compatibility mode doesn't do anything either.
Has anyone else encountered these issues and found a good way around it? I've read other threads about the first issue, and the only thing that seemed to help anyone was other render modes and CPU throttling, neither of which work for me. And I can't find anything at all about the second problem.

I have WIn7 64 bit, and I've gotten the game working reasonably well with the following tricks.
I use the dgVoodoo glide wrapper set to use Direc3d9 Renderer, texture memory size set to 65536kB, and resolution matching my desktop resolution.
The I76 or Nitro shortcut has -glide added, and compatibility mode set to Windows 98/ME, disable visual themes, disable desktop composition, and run as administrator.

This is usually due to DEP. You need to add the game executable to the DEP exception list.

I have an ATI4850, and I cannot do what ZaphodAVA was able to do. Right now, I'm running on software only.

Runs perfectly for me in Win7 64-bit /w Radeon 4850
Need to run 9.7 catalyst or below OR use the newest drivers and just put the .dll file (from the other topic) into the game folder.
Also have to use the batch file to kill explorer.exe everytime you run the game.
Use -glide option, and use dgVoodoo with the right settings. No wobbly wheels or anything. Everything runs OK.

All that does for me is make the overall frame rate worse. Taurus still moves way too slowly.

Thanks for that - DEP was on and I didn't realize it. Disabling it made Nitro work. Also, I don't know if this had anything to do with the DEP, but in I76, Taurus stopped wobbling. He still moves like a slug, though, and his brake lights flash on and off a lot. A lot of the vehicles in Nitro do this too, though I did manage to lose to Taurus in Crimson, so this issue doesn't seem to affect every vehicle.
