I read some about this game and was wondering about similarities to Divine Divinity, which is also action RPG that have more than map cleaning in it and it's written more than well.

I started a new game, read some manuals and else but I stumbled into something weird for me.
There are four level of magic to learn - Novice, Student, Initiate and Magister.
Why Thief can learn 3rd level (Initiate) but not Paladin? I though Paladins are more into magic than these scoundels?
I don't think this is explained anywhere in the game or in any books. My speculation is that since thief is a former noble, he is more acquainted with reading and studying books than paladin is which makes it easier for him to learn more complex spells.
That have some sense, still feel weird though.
BTW. combat in the game it's not that bad, even initial bats with priests were ok.
